Yoggie, the folks behind the Yoggie Gatekeeper Pro, are back with a new handheld security device designed to keep your data and your communications secure on the go: the Yoggie Pico. The Pico is the size of a USB flash drive and comes packed with 13 antispyware and antivirus applications to clean up your notebook computer. The Pico can also keep your data safe proactively, by including a number of firewall and security features also found in its big brother.
The Yoggie Pico requires no software installations and thus protects the performance of your computer: The antispyware and antivirus apps run on the Pico itself, which is essentially a small customized Linux box that connects to your computer. It includes parental controls, phishing protections, packet inspection, and more. The Pico is missing some of the features of the Gatekeeper, like Web and e-mail proxy features, as well as the full intrusion-detection system that comes with the Gatekeeper. However, the Pico is smaller and more affordable, with personal and pro versions priced at $179 and $199, respectively.
Yoggie is aiming the Pico line of products at small businesses that are concerned about data security, and at professionals who travel often and want to keep their data safe from any prying eyes. The Pico is scheduled for release in September 2007.
