Clocky.jpg

It's pretty easy to turn off your alarm and fall right back to sleep--that's for sure. If you're anything like me, you don't even need to open your eyes to shut your alarm up; the motion is programmed into our arms and hands (hooray for muscle memory!).

But all that pre-programmed morning slumber defeats the purpose of an alarm clock altogether: that being to get the heck up already! Blindly shutting off the Clocky alarm clock (finally available, for $49.99 from ThinkGeek.com) solves that very problem. Unless your reflexes are lightning quick--and, let's face it, whose are in the early morning hours?--you're going to have to chase this wheeled robot clock down before you can turn it off.

Almost immediately after the alarm sounds, Clocky springs into action. His wheels drive him forward and back until he inevitably falls off your nightstand and begins freewheeling through your bedroom, until you manage to snag him and shut off the alarm. Watch your toes!

How's that for a wake-up call?
