Samsung on Monday unveiled its revamped portable PC, dubbed the Q1 Ultra.
The release builds on the Q1 UMPC introduced last year. The upgraded, handheld device boasts a light-emitting diode (LED) backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) touch screen in the center with a split keyboard on either side.
It runs on Intel processors with speeds up to 800 MHz and is compatible with Microsoft Vista, according to Samsung. There is at least 1 GB of high-speed DDR2 system memory and a minimum 4.5 hours of battery life. The Q1 Ultra is WiFi and Bluetooth EDR enabled with a factory optional cellular modem.
On the bells and whistles front, the device includes a 300 pixel webcam and a microphone for video chatting or conferencing. There is also a camera and camcorder for the budding film maker.
If you want feel very 007, the Q1 Ultra also includes fingerprint recognition for security and authorized log-in purposes, but there is also the somewhat 007 price of $799.
