New DS Lite Colors

American gamers are familiar with the three classic Nintendo DS Lite colors: Coral Pink, Polar White, and Onyx (black). Now Nintendo Japan has announced that two new colors will join that lineup: Metallic Rose and Glossy Silver. Glossy Silver is a throwback to the original Nintendo DS color, and Metallic Rose is a pale version of Coral Pink. Personally, I'm waiting on Nintendo to do something crazy, like produce a DS in some shade of blue--and I'm not referring to "Ice Blue," which landed in Japan last year and never made it across the sea.

We'll still have to wait for the new colors; though they're on sale in Japan immediately for the same price as the regular DS Lite, Nintendo hasn't announced when it plans to export the new colors to North America. If you simply have to have one of the new colors right away, you can check with your favorite import shop.
