Nvidia, which earlier this year was the target of a U.S. Department of Justice subpoena concerning possible price-fixing in the graphics-card market, has now been hit by a wave of follow-up civil suits -- at least 51, according to a company filing.
Nvidia and its rival, AMD (which bought ATI) virtually own the discrete PC graphics-card business, at least until the rumored Intel discrete graphics card is introduced. With only two major suppliers, the possibility for at least a tacit collaboration on pricing is apparently there, the suits allege. Nvidia believes the suits are without merit.
