With preview and post-view showcases coming to New York, the annual Consumer Electronics Show can't be far off (well, acutally, seven months to go). This CES-in-New York mini gathering for the media was called Digital Driver (not to be confused with PC Magazine's Digital Drive Awards), and featured an assembly of cutting-edge mobile technologies. The biggest eye-catcher was the DirecTV Sat-Go: portable satellite TV in a 26-pound briefcase.

The Sat-Go case holds a 17-inch flat-panel TV, a hinged satellite antenna (flat, not curved), a standard-definition DirecTV receiver, connectors and power adapters, and a short-use battery good for about an hour. The cost is $1,499 plus programming; it's available only from DirecTV itself.

Check our slideshow for a look at the Sat-Go and other cool mobile products.
