If you love shiny rocks, the Acer Aspire 5920 laptop might peak your interest. The company calls it its Gemstone design, using a similar in-mold lamination technique as HP's Pavilion line. Future designs will feature banding patterns, resembling various types of polished rocks and minerals, which are then laminated into the cover. If it's not news to you already, the Aspire 5920 debuts with Intel's newest Centrino Duo platform. Expect to see Core 2 Duo processors with 800Mhz FSB support, native 802.11n support, and Intel's Turbo memory, which uses non-volatile memory to increase system responsiveness.
The 15.4-inch widescreen will rock your HD DVD titles, and yes, the system comes with an HD DVD Rom and HDMI-Out port. The Nvidia GeForce 8600M-GT will provide the necessary HDCP support on the graphics end, as well as rock solid gaming performance and DX10 support. You also have the option of adding a DVB-T TV Tuner to grab off-the-air signals and record all of that fine content into Windows Vista's MCE interface, that is, if you're planning on traveling to Europe.
