Zap may give Tesla some competition in the electric supercar market with its new Zap-X electric SUV. According to a company press release, the Zap-X boasts up to 644 horsepower and has a top speed of 155 mph. The car will reportedly reach a range of 350 miles between charges, with a charge time of only 10 minutes. According to Insidegreentech the cost of charging a ZAP-X is expected to be as little as 1 cent a mile, or $3.50 for a 350-mile range. The car will also feature solar power-generating glass for its window surfaces.

Adding to the Zap-X's high-tech aura is the vehicle's built-it computer system, known as the "carputer." It boasts a Windows XP–powered entertainment system, which will support WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, and high-definition video. Taking this high-performance electric SUV home will cost you around $60,000.
