Isn't technology fantastic? Devices including portable hard drives get smaller on the outside but can somehow hold more information. Other World Computing even brings it up a notch with their new Mercury On-The-Go 160GB portable hard drive. Available now, the drive is in keeping with the name of the messenger of the gods; running at 7200PRM, and offering FireWire 800/400 and USB2 interfaces. Of course speed doesn't come cheap, and at $279.99 this new OWC drive is a tad expensive.
However, it does support Macs and PCs, as well as all FireWire and USB devices including digital cameras and camcorders, so you can transfer your files while on the go. The Mercury On-The-Go 160GB also includes the full retail version of Prosoft DataRescue III for OX X, and NovaStor NovaBackup for Windows. With the added software, and peace of mind you'll get by being able to back up your PC, the price could almost be considered a bargain.

Yes, way overpriced. Suggest the Western Digital Passport 120GB for about $100, search pricewatch-dot-com. The WD Passport offers several hundred g's of shock rating.
