NEW YORKVirtually every New York International Auto Show visitor who walks into the Crystal Palace, the multi-hundred-pane glass atrium of the Jacob Javits Convention Center, looks up and wonders, "What happens in here when it rains?" Good question.
Actually, some of the water problems during the annual auto show have happened under the regular roof on the show floor. For instance, at the Audi booth, in the far left corner of the show floor, the silver-colored R8 supercar shared floor space with strategically placed garbage cans, nicely draped with black cloths, under the biggest of the leaks. And during the press intro of the S5 sports coupe, the windshield was visibly rain-splattered. At least no pigeons got loose inside the Javits this year.
