Intel has lifted the curtain on its one-inch thick laptop (codenamed Metro) that's charged through a wireless charging pad. Even better, the charging pad will allow you charge any other gadget by simply placing the device on top of the notebook. Intel expects you to carry it like a mailman carries the mail, and it features an external display so you can quickly surf the web or check your email.

The specs are really impressive: it sports a Core 2 Duo processor, Bluetooth support, and WiFi and WiMax radios, but further details are slim (it's only a concept).

Hopefully more details will be available soon and our friends in the PC Mag labs will have a chance to get their hands on it and tell you more about it. [via Gizmodo]

Can you say, "Mug me, please!". Joining Apple in the mug-me device craze. And just what I want, a large rectangular piece of plastic and metal banging on my hips all day. ;-)

Chris, maybe if they had it backpack style? Hmmm, then it would be "Mug me please from behind.."
