Given that the names, at least, once shared the same corporate letterhead, it's somewhat bittersweet to see new hardware with the names "Amiga" and "Commodore" discussed, if not announced, this week. Of course, Amiga and Commodore are now just labels slapped over holding companies, but let's not kill the nostalgia just yet.
Amiga said they would announce (that's different than actually announcing, by the way) new machines next week, while Commodore published specs and prices for some outstandingly expensive rigs.
Meanwhile, as Coolest-gadgets.com notes, prices start between $3,500 and $5,800 for the Commodore Gaming xx, which includes a quad-core Intel setup and an Nvidia SLI motherboard, for starters. For the price you get a label and a C64 emulator. Nostalgia carries a steep price tag, especially when it carries a "vintage" label, as any young hipster will tell you.
