The current school year is barely over but parents and students are already getting cheap laptop solutions in the form of Toshiba's latest Satellite series laptop. Even if you're not looking for a campus companion, the A135-S4527 might be the sub-$800 laptop that fits a tight budget.

120 GB of removable memory, a Pentium-dual-core processor and a 15.4 inch widescreen are some of the specs for this bargain laptop. Although I'd normally just get a new set of pens and pencils and maybe a new backpack for an upcoming school year, times are changing and the latest Toshiba Satellite might be a good way of keeping those kids up to date without emptying that wallet. It may not house a quad-processor but it's a start.
