Casio Super Slim Projector

The days of lugging huge projectors to conference rooms or having to mount them on the ceiling in order to get quality video on a conference room wall or projector screen are long over. Projectors are getting smaller and lighter, and someday may fit into your cell phone. Casio, one of the companies churning out these projectors, announced that it was unveiling what it's calling the world's smallest and lightest 25,000-lumen projector.

The Casio XJ-S46 will be the first in Casio's lineup of "Super Slim Projectors," and comes in at just under 4 pounds and about 1.7 inches thick. It also sports a new type of lens and lamp that Casio developed specifically for its line of mobile projectors; the company claims it delivers superior brightness and low power consumption in several different types of light. The XJ-S46 also has a 2X zoom lens, allowing you to magnify your projected image to fit different types of screens. Additionally, the projector supports USB, so you can plug in a USB flash drive to load a presentation or video straight from the drive. Or with Casio's external USB wireless adapter, you can network the projector with up to four other computers to retrieve and collaborate on files. The XJ-S46 is scheduled for release in July, and should run approximately $2,400. [ via NewLaunches ]

Sounds like a excellent product but 25,000 lumen might be a typo as this would make it so bright it would burn through the projection screen. Perhaps its 2,500 lumen which is still a great deal of brightness for such a slim projector.

Ack! That is indeed a typo! My mistake, Mark. Thanks for correcting me!
