starwarsstamps.jpgThose R2-D2 mailboxes planted in major cities wasn't just some gimmick. The United States Postal Office announced that it will feature 15 stamps of Star Wars characters to celebrate its 30th anniversary. My, how time flies! The Star Wars Stamps won't be available until May 26. But until then, the USPS is giving you the opportunity to vote for your favorite stamp. The winning stamp will become its own stamp sheet. Choose from Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Millenium Falcon, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Queen Amidala, The Emperor, Anakin Skywalker & Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia & R2-D2, C-3PO, Boba Fett, Darth Maul, Chewbacca & Han Solo, StormTroopers, Yoda, or X-Wing Starfighter.

It doesn't end there. The USPS will also feature Star Wars Limited Edition Express Mail Prepaid Packs. You'll be able to get these factory-sealed packages beginning April 6, only online.

So far, over 19,000 votes have been cast. Which character do you want to see on a stamp? Go ahead and cast your vote today!

I vote for fat Elvis.

And to be slightly more serious, as long as Jar Jar doesn't wind up on a stamp, I'm game.

But even though I'm a geek, I find the USPS's sudden fascination with Star Wars slightly rediculous.

Anyone know which stamp won?

I know it was a tie back when I was voting for my favorite.
