We've been following the CableCARD saga for a bit, and it had been a rocky road so far (see my article on Dell XPS 410 with Digital Cable Tuner preview on PCMag.com).

I got a Velocity Micro CineMagix Grand Theater PC in the other day, and we are finally rocking premium HDTV on a Media Center PC on a shipping system. Chris Morley at Velocity Micro tells me that a couple of lucky users are also using this system successfully. (Yup, that is Dave Matthews in a MCE HD window using Flip3D!)

Thanks to the folks at Verizon FIOS who have worked over the past few days to get me up and running with a pair of Motorola CableCARDs. Their attitude in helping us get rolling was refreshing to say the least, especially after the experiences I've had in the past.
