The inexorable march of the flash drives continues this week. KingMax announced a new USB 2.0 "Super Stick" yesterday that the company--staying true to the industry's hyperbolic tendencies--says is "the world's smallest flash drive."

A quick survey of diminutive flash drives on the Internet reveals that Sony makes at least a comparable drive, the Micro Vault. Yet those colorful flash drives only go up to 2GB and cost as much as $65. KingMax's drives tout up to 4GB capacities for a mere $55 ($19 for the 512MB version). Cram all that into a 3.4 x 1.24 x .22cm package and you have yourself quite a deal. I'd be sure to use the included cell phone strap, however.

Yeah, um...I think this crosses the threshold where small size becomes more of a liability than it is a convenience. Probably easy to break too.
