Even before Apple has had the opportunity to add even more capacity to store songs and movies on your iPod, PDAsmart--the self-proclaimed "leading iPod upgrade company"--has announced a 100GB hard drive update for the iPod with Video.
The new drive allows you to store 25,000 songs or 125 hours of video on a drive with improved battery life. The drive installs right into your 60GB or 80GB iPod without any modifications, but your old 30GB iPod will have a bulge on its back if you decide to soup it up.
If you're of the DIY ilk, the company will send an installation kit and detailed instructions so you can pop out the old drive and insert the new. But installation can be tricky, so PDAsmart also offers to install the new hard drive for you, for a nominal fee.
The drive, manufactured by Toshiba, comes with a one-year warranty and is available at the PDAsmart Web site for $275, or $285 for the mail-in repair.
