duel%20game.jpg

Masochists and frat-boys rejoice, there's finally a game commercially available that will put you and your friends' pain tolerances to the test. The Shocking Duel Novelty Game is a pair of joysticks that, when the game is activated, send electric shocks through the handles and into the players. The shocks increase in intensity until someone lets go of their joystick, and the last one holding on wins. What you win, other than perhaps mild burns on the inside of your palm, I'm not quite sure.

Even so, I can see this being a popular drinking favorite during frat parties and in college dorms, and it reminds me an awful lot of the PainStation, an art and design project that shocked, burned, and whipped Pong players in order to provide an "incentive" for winning. I don't think I'll be investing in one anytime soon, but I can't say I don't know people who will. People with heart problems or pacemakers should avoid this one at all costs. Each pair of joysticks is available for $19.99. [via Ubergizmo]

This was part of a game in the movie "Never Say Never Again" where James Bond (Sean Connery) goes up against Klaus Maria Brandauer.

Not exactly the sort of "sport" I'd like to emulate!

Yikes! I didn't know that! You're right, I don't think I'd like to try it myself.

You're also right - Sean Connery is the true James Bond. :D
