Buyers beware: If you own the Sky Squadron Model 4153 from Radio Shack or the Sky Rangers Model 4161 from Wal-Mart, stop using them. About 66,000 R/C-controlled planes sold from December to February at Radio Shack and from January to February at Wal-Mart are being recalled due to overheating and the planes catching on fire. Rather than keeping a fire extinguisher handy, the RC plane distributor Estes-Cox chose to hold a massive recall and welcome parents to receive a replacement. The distributor was contacted after nine reports were made of overheating, caused by the planes' rechargeable Lithium polymer batteries. One incident resulted in a minor burn injury. Call Estes-Cox for replacement details. [via The Post Standard]
