LGTextLogo 2GTBT! F ur a gr8 txtr u cn win $25K fr LG! + frE vaca 2 NYC! Registr 2day b4 ts 2 l8!

If you were able to read that, that means two things: One, you might be 13 years old; two, you could soon become a 13-year-old who's $25,000 richer. That's right, folks, LG is throwing its first ever National Texting Championship in celebration of your mad skills, the slow disintegration of the English language, and (of course) its clunky line of enV and V mobile message devices.

Now, I'm not the first to think that this whole texting lingo is getting a tidbit out of hand: In 2003 a British teacher was baffled when a student turned in her entire "How I Spent My Summer Vacation Essay" completely in messaging lingo. And educators have long been whining that students' abbreviated jive talkin' has wreaked havoc on their grammar and spelling skills. I 4 1 dunno wat there talking bout.

But the real question is: Who can mangle the English language faster than anyone else? (Well, anyone else in the US anyway.) And to the, ahem, talented winner: Lots of cold, hard cash so that he or she can go out and buy a lock of Han Solo's hair--or whatever.

But alas, the winner cannot be dubbed "The World's Fastest Geek" as that title has already been awarded by PC Magazine. So for now we'll just call 'em "Le Dork De Jour."

Think you've got the goods? See if you can translate a couple of the famous quotes after the jump...

Can you translate these famous (and a couple of my personal favorite) quotes?

Communication in this modern age is becoming lacking at best... I think the use of texting, instant messaging and other forms of modern technology are leaving traditional language in a sad state of disarray. For more on this suject, please read this:
