Beginning in "late February" (so now, I assume), ASUS notebooks will be available for purchase at more than 150 Best Buy retail stores nationwide, the company said this week. Although the notebook maker is the eighth-ranked brand in the notebook market, according to IDC, the compay hasn't has much luck in cracking the U.S. retail market.
The first notebook to appear in Best Buy will be the Asus G1, a gaming notebook with some nifty features, including a small OLED display that you can configure to notify you if you're receiving an IM update, for example.
The G1 is a member of the company's "Republic of Gamers" sub-brand, which basically just means it pwns, or whatever the kids are saying these days.
