The rivalry between Sierra Wireless and Novatel Wireless in the high-speed-cellular-PC-card world is pretty intense, and up until now Novatel has had the upper hand in two key categories: USB modems and ExpressCards.
Well, Novatel's still ahead on the ExpressCard front, but Sierra has evened the score in the USB department with their AirCard 595U for Sprint, arriving on shelves next month. The 595U will hook any PC with a USB port up to Sprint's EVDO Rev A network for blazing Internet speeds. The 595U will cost $49.99 with a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, Sierra said.
