bionic_hand.jpg

It's official; a team of researchers from the Tokyo Institute of Technology have created a bionic hand that can crush an empty beverage can and eventually all of humanity.

The bionic hand has a grip strength of 33lbs and just like an annoying uncle, will insist on painfully squeezing your hand when shaking it. It only weighs 300 grams and is about half the size of an adult male hand. The secret behind this incredible display of strength is a series of pulley cables that run through the fingers, which let each finger pinch and pick up small objects when used in combination with the hand's opposable thumb.

If only Sarah Connor were a soda can, the Terminator might not have had such an issue with changing the future. [via Pink Tentacle]
