Hiding a spare key under the doormat? So 20th century. Now, thanks to Waleli's GSM Doorbell, your cell phone can become a remotely-accessible key to your front door.
The system consists of an intercom, an electronic lock, a SIM card for your phone, and the GSM Doorbell itself. When someone pushes your doorbell, your phone will ring to let you know. You can then communicate with your visitor and, should they prove worthy, enter a pin number into your phone to unlock the door.
This technology can come in handy in a number of situations, like letting a delivery person drop off a package or letting a trusted neighbor borrow a cup of sugar. Most conveniently, probably, is the ability to get into your own home when you've locked yourself out--again.
