Italy's leading mobile industry operator, Telecom Italia, just announced that it will partner up with Polymer Vision to create the first mobile rollable display-enabled personal device. The "rolodex-style" device is smaller than an average cell phone, yet lets the user easily read newspapers and books, with superior text and graphic content, on a 5-inch screen. Coupled with TIM's mobile services, the device will also offer instant access to e-mail, audio books, and podcasts, as well as the ability to download and play music. It'll first be shown at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona on February 12. As the Italians would say, puramente fantastico.
