Video games and DJing. They're two worlds you knew had to collide at some point, and DJ ! (pronounced Dee Jay Shift One) is crashing them head-on. His art, known as WiiJing, replaces the traditional turntable setup with computer software and the innovative wireless remotes of the Nintendo Wii.
Aside from the novelty of having a video game geek running your dance party, a big part of WiiJing's appeal is in the visuals. What better way to get the crowd going than a DJ waving his arms and shaking his thang along with them? Admittedly, most functions are right now controlled by buttons and wrist flicks rather than the Wiimote's acceleration sensing, but it's still nerdily entrancing to watch a WiiJ at work.
While DJ ! may be putting a fresh twist on clubbing with his Wii-mixes, he's not the only one to see the potential of the Nintendo's new controller. With a handy application called GlovePIE, PC users are getting their Wii remotes to serve as everything from a mouse to a virtual drum set to a game controller. Are we finally nearing the day when we'll all carry around universal Wiimotes to control everything in our lives?

That's...actually really hot. ;) I can think of a few of my fellow turntable jockeys who might be interested in trying this!
