Here at PC Magazine, we're expecting all of our email to suddenly appear an hour off in March because of the new Daylight Savings Time rules wreaking havoc with our ancient Exchange server. At least you can stave off the problem on your handheld. If you own a Blackberry, Palm or Windows Mobile device, download and install the relevant update now - definitely before the time change on March 11 - to fix the clock on your handheld.

You can get a fix for Palm OS Treos here, for Windows Mobile Treos here, for all other Windows Mobile devices here, and for Blackberry devices here.

You mean your IT team hasn't taken care of this yet? I know for Blackberry Enterprise Server a patch for the server and a push policy to all of the connected BBs resolves the DST issue, but I do know that Windows Mobile devices require a little more hands-on work. ;) How ancient is "ancient" as far as your Exchange server is concerned? Wait-don't tell me, I think I'm scared.

It's really good of you to put the fixes right out there for people to grab though, I think this is going to catch a lot of people by surprise, and a lot of IT departments aren't prepping themselves for the scope of changes this will cause and services this will break. I drafted the DST project plan for the company I'm with, and we're slated to have everything patched up before March 1, thank goodness. ::wipes brow::

Is there really no patch for 'ancient' Exchange Servers?? And how 'ancient' does it have to be?
