The Freedom Slim Bluetooth Keyboard looks like someone took the keypad from a Motorola RAZR and expanded it to a full-size QUERTY keyboard. This 54-key keypad for mobile devices is incredibly small, thin, and lightweight, only about the size and thickness of a credit card. Despite its size, the Freedom Slim still manages to support Bluetooth and serial port profile (SPP), which makes it compatible with most PDAs and smartphones running Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian operating systems.
The internal battery is rechargeable over USB, and the battery provides about 4 hours of continual use before needing to be plugged in, or 100 hours in standby. The keyboard's metallic keys even have backlighting in your choice of cool blue or bright orange, and can be toggled on or off to save juice. The Freedom Slim is small enough to fit into your pocket and has rubber feet to keep it from sliding around your desk when you use it. The manufacturer plans to sell the Freedom Slim with a leather carrying case that you can also keep your PDA in. No pricing information is available yet, but the Freedom Slim is expected to show up at retailers in April 2007.
