The new ePassports issued by the U.S. State Department have their own inherent security measures. However, taking extra precautions to protect the personal RFID information stored on the passport may be a good idea. Now you can pass through customs worry-free and be stylish at the same time with Kena Kai's radio-frequency shielding Datasafe Passport Wallets.
I recently obtained a new passport last year and can appreciate the need for extra precautions to safeguard our personal information while traveling. Although no one would dare try to steal my luggage (not with the anti-theft bright pink bow I put on it), my personal information is a different story. The Datasafe Passport Italian leather wallets utilize multiple layers of radio-frequency (RF) shielding material to hopefully protect your ePassports from wireless identity-theft, and will begin shipping in March for about $50 to $180. How often do you get to deter theft with smooth and Croc embossed Italian leather in various colors?

RF-protection nothing, those are some swanky passport wallets! :D
And is it a bad thing that this reminded me to get my passport? I'm long overdue for renewing it.

Protecting your ePassport is highly recommended. Your name, address, and photo can be read through the wireless chip on the back page. Spending $50 to $180 however isn't necessary. Identity Stronghold sells very durable Tyvek(r) backed shielded passport sleeves. They only run about $5 each. You can put your passport in them and put it in the leather passport holder you already own if you still desire. They can be found at www.idstronghold.com.
They also carry sleeves for RFID credit cards as well as badge holders.
