You may want to be careful the next time you text message someone. Ann Greenfield, 34, a middle school teacher, wanted to buy pot from her dealer. So, she picked up her cell phone and sent a text message. Unknowingly, she sent the text message to the wrong person: it was state trooper Trevor Pervine. A curious Pervine called the teacher and set up a meeting place for the transaction. When Greenfield arrived, she realized her costly mistake when police cars were there, ready to take her in. "She learned her lesson. Program your dealers into your phone," Kentucky State Police spokesman Barry Meadows said.
According to USA Today, Greenfield was charged with "conspiracy to traffic in controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia".

Isn't that entrapment?

@Teresa: It's not entrapment because the teacher initiated the communication. It's the same as when undercover police pose as underage children on MySpace and such - because they don't open communication themselves, they're not really trapping someone, just being there when they do something stupid. ;)
Speaking of stupid, I love love LOVE that quote. "She learned her lesson. Program your dealers into your phone." Comedy gold.
