I am one of the many Manhattanites who lives in a tiny shoe box of an apartment, with a bedroom that is only slightly larger than my cubicle at work. This sort of cramped living requires a lot of lifestyle adjustments, like buying multiple space-saving conveniences from Tiny Living, switching to using a laptop computer, and giving up anything akin to a normal computer desk.
I'd basically resigned myself to a life of endless back pain and nerve damage from hunching and leaning over my laptop, when lo! another wonder comes from Japan to let me be a lazy slug and be on the internet at the same time. The Easy Desk Aluminum, from Thanko, Inc., is an adjustable laptop desk that can serve as a desk when placed on the floor, the couch, or my favorite, on the bed. The desk portion measures 48 x 24 centimeters (that's around 18 x 9 inches, for those of us confused by metric measurements). Each leg consists of three segments, jointed together for free adjustment into a variety of heights and positions. The Easy Desk Aluminum is available from Rare Mono Shop for $58.17 (with a wince-inducing $35 shipping cost). Now, if anyone needs me, I'll be "working from home"...
