JBL%20OnAirControl2.4G.jpg

Testing the theory that you can’t have too many speakers, JBL introduced a pair of wall-mountable loudspeakers at CES last week. The On Air Control 2.4G satellites incorporate a 2.4Ghz wireless transceiver and amplifier, along with a transmitter/receiver module so you can hang the speakers and connect your various audio devices from up to about 30 feet away.

Each transmitter/receiver can be used with up to two pairs of the speakers, as well as with an optional subwoofer. The On Air Control 2.4G, which will hit retail in February for $349, won’t replace a multi-channel surround sound system, and the 30 watts won’t exactly rock the house – or even shake the walls much. But these speakers are good for bringing music to another room, or for those places where you want to connect a PC or portal music player without having to install a larger entertainment system.
