If you are now the proud owner of the Playstation 3, and have extra money to spend but no new games to spend it on, Nyko has some interesting accessories with which to compliment your new console. A cooling system, charging solutions for the controllers, and HDMI cables are just some of the new products Nyko is offering to those who feel that what you get out of the box just isn't good enough.

The first one up is an accessory many Xbox 360 owners have already purchased or may have at least considered. The Xbox 360 had gotten a lot of attention for some overheating complaints, and Nyko had developed the Intercooler in response. PS3 owners are now getting some extra cooling care with their own Intercooler that nips overheating in the bud. This device uses five fans to increase air flow and maintain optimal temperature levels. Retailing from $19.99 to $29.99, the Nyko Intercooler may be the first accessory those with console thermophobia pick up.

If you happen to have four SIXAXIS controllers and enough friends to use them on a daily basis, the Charge Basis for the PS3 allows you to charge up to four wireless controllers and it plugs into any wall outlet. For those with fewer controller needs, Nyko also offers the Dual Charge AC and the Charge Link. The Dual Charge lets you charge up to two controllers via mini USB cables, and the Charge Link is just a 10 foot cable that you connect to the PS3 and controller to charge the SIXAXIS while playing. Both of these can be used to charge any other USB compliant electronic device, and the three charging solutions sell for $39.99, $24.99, and $14.99 respectively.

There are those though, like myself, who actually prefer the rumble feature that can only be found in the original Dual Shock 2 controller (the SIXAXIS went the route of hastily added motion sensing instead). The solution to this comes in the form of the Play Adapter, which allows you to use your Playstation 2 accessories on your PS3. This includes racing wheels and the guitars from Guitar Hero, so you can enjoy last generation gaming on a next generation console, as well as relive that rumbling I miss so much for $14.99.

Audio/video cables and a Bluetooth headset round out the PS3 accessories and the cables are perhaps the most necessary of the bunch. For those with HDMI-enabled televisions, opening the Playstation 3 for the first time may have been a disappointing experience since the console ships without HDMI cables. You can remedy that problem with Nyko's HDMI Cable that retails for $29.99. If you don't have an HDMI setup, Nyko has you covered as well with the HD-Link. These high-quality video and audio cables run for $19.99. The Blue Com Wireless Headset lets you get your trash-talking groove on through the marvel of Bluetooth technology. It boasts a battery life of up to 8 hours, is supported on any game that uses in-game chat, and runs for $59.99.

You can usually tell how successful a console is by how much space on the retail wall is dedicated to acces, and the Playstation 3 is certainly not lacking in options. So far, only the HDMI cables seem to be available on the Nyko website, but hopefully the rest of the lineup will soon be made available to fulfill any gamer's accessory desires.
