Unveiled at MacWorld 2007, the TuneTether is a pretty simple way to address a problem I think we've all had with earbuds (those of us who care for earbuds and not headphones, that is): what to do with them when you need to pull them out of your ears! When I'm listening to my iPod and someone wants my attention, I naturally take my earbuds out so I can hear them. Unfortunately though, even if I try to stuff them in my pocket or wrap them around my neck so I can put them back in easily, they wind up dragging on the floor or nearly choking me.
Enter the TuneTether. It's a pretty simple idea, a band of plastic that you wear around your neck, with two notches around the front for your earbud cords. Just slide the cord leading to each earbud through the notch. When you need to remove your earbud, just pop it out, and since the cable is in the TuneTether, it dangles right next to your neck.
This might seem like a pretty simplistic solution to an odd problem, but I know I can't be alone in how much twisted, jumbled, knotted cables annoy me, and this might just help a little bit. The TuneTether comes in White, Black, and Pink, and goes for $9.99 each; packs of 3 (one of each color) are $19.97 a piece.
