recycle.jpg If you live in the New York City area and are tired of looking at your broken cell phone, outdated monitor, and other tech junk, do the right thing. Don't just chuck them into the garbage can, recycle them--at the "After the Holidays" event hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center in Union Square this coming Sunday, January 7, from 8 AM to 4 PM, rain or shine (but it looks to be another unseasonably warm day). The following items will be accepted, among others: Computers (desktop and laptop), monitors, printers, and other peripherals (keyboards, mice, external cd drive, modems), TVs, and cell phones. See the LESEC's Web site for a full list. We have a heads up on this event since we're based here in New York, but if you're elsewhere, here's a state-by-state guide to ecology initiatives. And here's another one. I love the Web.
