I've reviewed several digital photo frames in the past, including the Pandigital 8.0" Digital Photo Frame and Westinghouse DPF-0561, but I've never seen anything like the Ality PF-T150 from Mustek ($499.99 MSPR). What's unique about this digital photo frame is that it dons a 15-inch touch screen. Other features include a 1280 x 1024 resolution, two 3.0W speakers, the ability to schedule photo playback times for specific days or hours, a digital clock with alarm, USB 2.0, and is wall-mountable. How cool is that?!?!

And it doesn't end there. The PF-T150 comes with 512MB of internal memory (much more capacity than most frames), a wireless remote control, and is powered by the included AC adapter OR with a rechargeable Ni-MH battery (which I haven't seen any frames offer yet).

Mustek offers two other touch-screen digital frames, the Ality PF-T80R and Ality PF-T80. Ality frames will ship sometime in Q1 of 2007.

Ality PF-T80R ($299.99 MSRP) dons a smaller touch screen than the T150, but 8 inches with a 800 x 600 resolution is really all you need. It features a built-in auto tilting sensor, which detects whether it's in the horizontal or vertical position, and adjusts photos in either landscape or portrait. When the frame is in the off position, it has a mirrored surface which looks like a mirror. It also includes a photo-scheduler calendar, digital clock, alarm, USB 2.0, a built-in speaker, 256MB internal memory, and rechargeable batteries.

Ality PF-T80 is similar to the PF-T80R model but at a more affordable price of $199.99 (MSRP). It features an 8-inch, 640 x 480 LCD touch screen display, mirrored surface, USB 2.0, 128MB internal memory, two 2W stereo speakers, and clock/calendar/alarm.

Don't worry, I'm getting one of these babies in for testing (can you tell I'm excited)?

These are very nice looking frames. I'd be interested to know if they include CF,SD,XD etc. memory card readers like this standard type of frame...?

http://www.digivista.com.au/product_digivista_clearview_10.html

or are they strictly USB based with internal memory only.

Hi G. Mclaire. I'd say the best photo frames on the market right now (well, that I've been able to review) are Pandigital's frames, particularly the Pandigital 8.0" Digital Photo Frame (DPF-80-2). It has excellent picture quality, 64MB of internal storage plus a 6-in-1 card reader. Because this has a big screen, it retails for about $200 (but you can find it cheaper online or just buy a smaller size frame). Hi Harvey. I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that info in my post. According to the company, the Mustek Ality frames display JPEGs and MPEGs stored on Compact Flash, SD, MMC, Memory Stick and other memory cards.

Any idea when this series will be available for retail purchase?

This looks very nice. I'm also interested in the retail price because there's no information on the Mustek site (yet).

I'm also looking at two other devices, smaller (10") but they've got all this wireless functionality and Vista SideShow support:

1. MF8104 Premium (good quality screen it seems)
2. i-mate Momento 100 (good initial reviewers' impressions)

But I'll add this to my short-list because I like the touch-screen functionality because when it's hanging you don't want to fool around with it too much...

This one seems to be going for around $500...?

Aside from the Pixxa, I have had some trouble finding an online vendor that offers the Ality frames. So i was wondering if maybe someone could point me in the right direction.
I am still looking for more specific information on them and their site is lacking in information as well. I like the mirrored Pictura and the 8" wood frame you included in your breif review. If these frames are as good as they look/sound, why are they difficult to research and buy?

I Would like to know the battery back up time after a full recharge, the formatt of the pic`s with which it`s compatiable, if it plays music while playing the slide show and the warranty on it.

Any idea if the Mustek Ality PF-T80R is available yet? If no, when? Haven't seen any announcement or info on their website.

If any of you want more information on these frames try the manufacturers website: http://www.alitypc.com/
Now if anyone knows a site to buy any of their frames, aside from the Pixxa, PLEASE let me know as i have had no luck at all in my search.

Would like to know more as the functionality of the Ality PF-T80 for $199.00. Initially require 5 to be used where slides can be advanced, paused or reversed, via a touch screen or front panel button.

Seems the PF-T150 was a mirage. The closer it
got to release date, the quicker it vanished.
What a have!

Touchscreen may be not a good idea when the screen becomes dirty after touching to downgrade people's visual feelings. Intuitive touch keypad will be a better choice, like this digital picture frame:
