LG Electronics announced this morning that it will be launching the first dual-format high-definition disc player--in other words, it'll be able to play both HD DVD and Blu-ray discs, excusing those wealthy enough to afford what will likely be a pricy piece of electronics from taking a stand in the hi-def format war. The company first announced the probability that it would be shipping this kind of player back in March, but here's the confirmation. The player is slated ship early this year.
