Let's face it: luggage and laptop bag straps are annoying. In fact, on my recent journey to Vegas for CES, my carry-on bag had so many straps my jacket and purse kept getting tangled in them. To alleviate this problem (or maybe it's just a matter of impatience), SOLO--a business and laptop case company--created the Smart Strap line of bags. The SOLO Smart Strap laptop cases "feature a padded shoulder strap that automatically retracts into the body of the case when not in use." The new product line consists of a variety of Smart Strap bags. Shown here is the SOLO B434-4 Ballistic Nylon Smart Strap Laptop Portfolio ($79.99 MSRP). It has a ticket pocket, an accordion fan file, zip-down organizer with pen loops, business card holders, a key fob, accessory pocket, and a padded pocket that can hold up to a 15.4-inch laptop. SOLO PT338-4 Polyester Smart Strap Laptop Overnighter ($79.99 MSRP): the Smart Strap case expands an additional 1 inch for extra storage; a ticket pocket, pen loops, business card holders, a cell phone pocket, key fob, zippered accessory pocket, and the ability to hold up to a 15.4-inch laptop.

SOLO SGL600-4 Leather Smart Strap Portfolio ($129.99 MSRP): a black leather portfolio that features an unzipping back pocket; a padded computer compartment to hold a 15.4-inch laptop; an accordion fan file; and a zip-down organizer.
SOLO SGL673-4 Leather Smart Strap Rolling Laptop Case ($179.99 MSRP): a rolling case that converts into a Smart Strap shoulder case and a hand-held. A cushioned pocket holds a 15-inch laptop, and there's also a zip-down organizer and other compartments to hold files and papers.
You'll find the Smart Strap line at SOLO stores or your local Staples.
