Owners of MacBook Pro, Dell, HP, and Lenovo laptops with those pesky ExpressCard slots can rejoice: as of next month, Sprint will be selling an EV-DO Rev A ExpressCard to let you get on the fastest wide-area wireless network currently available in the nation. The Novatel Merlin EX720 will sell for $179.99 with a two-year agreement, and yes, it will support both Windows and the Mac OS.
Right now, ExpressCarders are probably using Novatel's U720 USB dongle to get on Sprint's network. The dongle is a good solution - it's fast and easy to use - but it's clunky. The EX720 ExpressCard will bring a little more sleek to your week.
Sprint also says users of Novatel Rev A cards and dongles will be able to use the cards' built-in GPS units to find nearby restaurants, gas stations and such with a free upgrade to their Connection Manager software.
Meanwhile, Verizon still hasn't officially launched Rev A.

Verizon may not have officially announced any Rev-A cities, but we know they've got it turned on in many places. Check out our newest site:

Good news! ...for Sprint subscribers. :( I'm a lowly Verizon subscriber, bound by their excellent coverage in the DC area, so I'm waiting for Rev. A. It makes me wonder what Verizon is thinking by holding back so much on services and features....I suppose they have the subscriber base that they don't care too much. :(

It really does seem like Verizon does not care about their customers. A 5GB download limit, $79.99 a month without already having service with them, their cards are more expensive, and the list could go on. Sprint wins! The new Novatel EX720 ExpressCard is just what Sprint needed to complete it's Rev A line up. Pre-Order and get $50 off the Novatel EX720 ExpressCard.
