midnightmadness.jpgWill we see consumers camping outside retailers to purchase the next Windows OS? Or paying people to hold their spots in line? It's not going to be as crazy as the lines for the PS3 and Wii that's for sure, considering many friends and family I have spoken with have said that they're not interested in Vista...yet.

But for those of you who can't wait for Vista may want to make an early dash before the OS officially goes on sale. On January 29th, CompUSA will open its doors at 10 pm for its Midnight Madness event. Plus, the store will be hosting live Vista demonstrations (but you've already checked out all of PCMag.com's coverage, right?). Brave shoppers can not only expect Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2007, and PCs running the new operating system for purchase, but also many discounted items such as:

*Canon Photo Printer ($9.99, regularly $49.99)
*Wireless-G Broadband Router ($1.99, regularly $49.99)
*19-inch Widescreen LCD Flat-Panel Monitor ($139, regularly $229.99)
*1 Terabyte External Hard Drive ($399.99, regularly $549.99)
*Toshiba Notebook with Dual Core & Windows Vista Home Basic ($579.99, regularly $729.99)
*Jabra 350 Bluetooth Headset (FREE).

I think there are going to be terrific deals but I don't feel like driving 45 minutes to get there. We need a COMP USA out here in Ozaukee and/or Washington County. I am sure other people feel that way also.
Happy Shopping.
