simpsons-phone.jpg Now that I have infected you all with the Bananaphone Virus ... at the Samsung booth here at the 2007 CES I saw three banana-yellow phones designed as tie-ins with the upcoming Simpsons movie: an A717 for Cingular (shown at left), an M500 for Sprint, and a U740 for Verizon. The phones are a genuinely hideous color, and the Verizon one comes with a donut charm. The choice of the U740, a dual-flip messaging phone, is an interesting one: are Simpsons fans big SMS and IM addicts?

Samsung says they'll have Simpsons phones out on all four major carriers when the movie comes out this July.

Hi Igor,

I read this and thought of what you were doing with 7-11. I expect to see the world in Simpsons yellow and drink Duff beer soon.

I hope you're doing well.

Regards,
Michael from Mullen
