Here's a solution for a frustrating problem. The major cellular carriers have been slow to bring high-speed cards to market for laptops with the new ExpressCard/34 slot, including the MacBook and some new HP, Dell and Lenovo models. Enter the Duel Systems DuelAdapter: an adapter where you can plug a PC Card into one end, and then plug the other end into your ExpressCard slot. The unit is much faster than PC Card-to-USB adapters, company reps said. Especially if you have an existing PC Card you're trying to use with a new laptop, it makes a lot of sense.
The DuelAdapter will be compatible with PCs and Macs when it comes out next month, and it will probably cost $119, according to the company. PC drivers are restricted to Windows XP, though they're working on Vista drivers. Duel reps said they had tested more than 90 laptop/card combinations with the adapter, including both 16 and 32-bit cards. The card will be available at major online retailers.

It has been 6 weeks now since you said that the DuelAdapter may be coming out. Any more word about that. I really need one for my aircard that I cannot use, since I bought my new computer!

Did you find a retailer for the DeulAdapter?, thanks, michael...

Buy it direct from their website www.duel-systemsadapters.com. Although it doesn't work with my E-Mu 1616M audio interface. It's firmware driven though so hopefully the problems will get sorted.
