The Stokke Gravity Chair looks as though it shouldn't be able to stand upright, but somehow it manages to. According to its creators, the chair is the ultimate in comfort, and "provides extreme relaxation for mind, spirit and body."
When you're in work mode, the Gravity Chair can stay upright and function as an office chair, and you can rest your knees on the padded knee rest at the bottom,. When you get tired of staring at that sales report, you can lean all the way back, turn the padded knee rest into a built-in ottoman, and relax in nearly weightless comfort!
According to Stokke, "The sloping seat allows wider space between the thigh and the upper part of the body, while the leg cushions prevent sliding forward when working at a table. When leaning back your legs will be lifted higher than your head providing you with the best position for relaxation and well-being!" I must admit, I'd be pretty nervous sitting in a chair that's only supported by two rocking legs, and I'm not sure if having my legs above my head is the best position for my well-being, but I'd be willing to give it a try.
I can't go for that mega relaxation yet, though; Gravity Chair is currently a concept design for a future product.
