usbpoledancer.jpgUpdate 12/12/06: BoysStuff.co.uk is taking pre-orders now of the USB Pole Dancer for $53. So get those dollar bills ready!

I've seen some of the weirdest USB devices in my life, but nothing beats this USB Pole Dancer. The USB Pole Dancer features a silver pole, multi-colored lights, and disco music. When powered on, she's supposed to do a little dance for ya along with the music. It's said to have cost £19.50 (~$25 USD).

Ironically, it looks a bit like Barbie, so I'm imagining that (well, one of the reasons anyway) is why this 8-inch tall USB device has been yanked from shelves at the popular Marks & Spencer stores in the UK. According to the Daily Mail, "A toy pole dancer has been scrapped by Marks & Spencer just a week after it went on sale, following scores of protests from angry shoppers." I don't find this device offensive at all. In fact, I think it's freakin' hilarious, and I bet some of my male colleagues would agree with me (although I don't think they'd admit it!)

I guess this means we won't be getting one in for testing... [via Gizmodo]

That's hilarious! It's not the most tasteful gift, of course, but it looks like a laugh riot. Ate those bills of currency all around the base of the pole in that photo? Scandalous!

Loving it. These things are fantastic, you need a bit of plastic now and again! I heard about the Marks & Sparks scandal, but they are still available in many places online.
