Excuse me, but what did she just say? (And we thought the USB Pole dancer was racy!) According to ABC News, the Little Mermaid Shimmering Lights Ariel doll, is supposed to say sweet phrases like "You're a wonderful friend" and hum a sweet melody, but if you press the buttons too fast, instead, a woman claims, Ariel says "You're a slut." Manufacturing error or hack? You decide.

From ABC News: ". . .her 3-year-old daughter. . .was pressing the button quickly so she could skip the phrases and get to the melody. Instead of just moving to the song. . .her daughter got the wrong message. 'I was in absolute shock. . .especially after my daughter repeated it'."

Mattel doesn't believe this happened, and since there has only been one complain, has no plans as of yet to cease production. (Although I could not find Ariel on the Mattel site.) Maybe she brought the Shimmering Paris Hilton or Skeletal Nicole Richie doll by accident.
