Be it sneaking in late to study hall, or pulling an all-night cram session at the library, there are three things that I don't want my backpack to cause: a noisy commotion, a fracas, or a rumpus (thanks dictionary.com!)--oh, and if we can stay away from the whole heated controversy thing, that would be really great too. I don't need all of the kids on campus spreading unwholesome rumors about my knapsack. Questionable name choice aside, Pacific Design's Ruckus is lightweight (2.8 lbs, which is incidentally a lot lighter than it sounds--or looks), thin (six inches--a blessing for those of us who frequent public transportation), and device friendly. The bag offers slots for notebooks up to 15.4 inches, mobile devices (complete with a tangle free headphone port), and an AC power supply. There's also a slot on the Ruckus for a water bottle and an "easy-access...compartment" for "luxury items," which again might not have been exactly the word combination we'd have gone for. Next time around, they might consider renaming it the "steal my expensive belongings, easy open pocket." Just a thought.
