I'm at an all-day Samsung press event today, and the executives are presenting in front of a giant photo of a so-far-unannounced messaging phone, the SCH-U740 for Verizon. Like the SGH-D307, this seems to be a dual-flip - flipping one way as a phone, and then horizontally into a sort of mini-laptop mode for text messaging and IM. Number buttons in one mode double as letter keys in another. It's an interesting competitor for the LG enV VX9900, though like the VX9900, I fear it will be damaged if Verizon picks lousy IM and e-mail software for the device.
