I'm an on-the-go type of guy, so the last thing I want to do is worry about how scratched up my iPod is going to get amidst a pocket full of keys and change. I often favor Speck Product cases because of their ruggedness and level of protection they offer. Their plastic protective screens are also a welcome addition as I see no point to owning a protective case that leaves the screen vulnerable to wear and tear. Speck Product's iPod FlipSkin continues this tradition and more. The FlipSkin includes the rubber and screen protection I love, and adds a simple, yet effective "kickstand" that flips out for when you want to watch videos but don't want to build a makeshift stand to do it. Although you can't remove the stand, it does fold flush against the case so it never feels bulkier than it has to be.
The only gripe I had with the FlipSkin was that the opening for the headphone jack was a bit thicker than those in other cases I use for my iPod, and my large headphone plug didn't fit the opening without the use of some brute force. Perhaps most people won't have this problem, but I do fancy those giant, obnoxious headphones.
The FlipSkin sells for $34.95 and fits the 30GB, 60GB, and 80GB iPods.
