Last night our fellow tech magazine, Wired, celebrated the opening of its holiday gadget emporium. The Wired Store, which opened to the public today, is located in New York City on the corner of Houston and Wooster Sts. Blogging Molly and I braved the very icky rain to attend the preview reception last night. Despite prevailing dampness in the overheated store (that's body heat, folks, 'cause it was packed!), we had a blast checking out the very cool and forward-thinking assortment of gizmos Wired has brought together.
If you plan to pay the store a visit (and gadget lovers shouldn't miss it), you'll get to ogle (and in some cases, try out) the Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii, the Tiger Electronics iDog, the Microsoft Zune, the PowerSquid Calamari, Mindball, the Horizon Fuel Cells H-Racer, the Infiniti G35, a Philips TV with Ambilight, and a huge amount of other tech toys. Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 12 to 8 PM,
Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM; it'll be around till December 31. Check out more pictures after the jump.

I want that DNA Portrait!!
What I think is really cool about the Wired Store is that if you make a purchase at the WIRED Store, you get free door-to-door shuttle service in an Infiniti G! Of course, you have to live in Manhattan below 34th Street, but that's pretty cool of them!

I've got to say, I'm really really about the DNA portrait. Something about it is just really really cool, and seriously, you can't really have any MORE personalized art on the walls than that, now could you?
Apparently all the cool stuff happens in New York! Nothing that awesome would ever open up around here!
